Review of Pollock (2000) by Bradley H — 09 Apr 2011
Though boasting strong performances by Harris and Harden, this biopic seems strangely hollow. It attempts to show the audience the creative process of Pollock, but it never amounts to more than watching a man torture himself over splatters of color.
Dialogue says his works are amazing without ever bothering to reveal what, if anything, warrants that adjective. The film, however, does reveal Pollock to be a disgusting person who lived a manner of life in keeping with his artistic style: childish.
