Review of Police Story (1985) by Alex R — 07 May 2010

Slightly off action movie, well to me anyway. its probably just the age of the film but anyway.

I think I should first of all mention that I prefer to watch foreign movies dubbed and not with subtitles, as I did with hard boiled. well... its ok but some characters are just dismul especially the police superintendant and selena. and when I had the subtitles along with the dubbed it just didnt match on at all so I didnt know which was real! that was off putting.

For me, this is a good movie but the wacky humour just makes it really weird. the music has aged terribly and the way its used doesnt help. its good to see jackie chan pull off kung fu madness and the opening bus scene is awesome! along with all the other kung fu. but again the humour is weird and feels very out of place.

But other than that this is a decent action film with much to be enjoyed but theres also a fair amount to put up with.
