Review of Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987) by Sanity Assassin ! — 04 Apr 2009
Again leslie easterbrook was the bomb... yikes! ma-ma, ma-ma! etc... but it was actually funny unlike police academy 3. don't get me wrong it had some truly silly and totally unfunny bits too but it was the right side of the laugh line.
I swear that having just watched it stupid itv2 cut my favourite leslie easterbrook scene just 'coz it was on the box at mid-day. When callahan says she's going to play the drowning victim and jumps in the pool the next thing I always remember in it is her bursting up out of the water and saying "who's going to save me?" where-upon everyone jumps in.
yet silly childish, english, politically correct and censor plagued television broadcasting company itv decided to cut it. not that i'm a perv or anything?!!? but think back to the days we used to have alf garnet on the tube?? britain is now pathetic.
i'm getting off the point here... so PA4 is funnier than 3. the other great character was the old woman known as mrs feldman who's played by billie bird. she spends the whole film smashing through windows, firing guns that she's obsessed with and generally being action granny! sharon stone was in it? I didn't even notice.
