Review of Police Academy (1984) by Nikhil K — 26 Sep 2008
The greatest comedy about a police officer training facility ever. How come the later movies are called police academy though? 5 thru 7 don't have anything to do with the academy aside from having cadets from said academy in them.
The characters are over the top and hilarious. No other decade has brought us so much garbage as the 80's, the decade that I grew up in and had the pleasure of watching it bleed over into the 90's.
Thankfully, Grunge music and Kurt Cobain killed the 80's only to usher in a new era of douche. I like to call that era the "I am a postmodernist, starving artist who tries to get rid of capitalism all the while gleefully laughing at the amount of dough that I am raking it" era.
It is about to end; I hope. Anyways, this movie is the peak of the greatness that is the Gutt.
