Review of Police Academy (1984) by Steve B — 22 Jun 2012
Classic comedy from the eightees and cult, iconic charcters. Along the lines of a 'spoof' or 'Porky's' movie and the like, 'Police Academy' is a movie that sees the everyday citizen signing up as a part of a new initiative from the Mayor.
Any size, creed or religion is welcome and put in uniform, trained up and taken into the field with disastous results and enough to get 'Leiutenant Harris (G.W. Bailey) shaking his head in . . . shame maybe? Lots of humour and amusing scenes to suit all manners of tastes and levels, from down right just funny and laughable, cheeky and rude.
A movie that puts the Police in an over the top bad light and not to be taken seriously. A big success in the day which spawned loads of sequels.
