As a kid, I remember this being a lot funnier than it actually is. The film's low budget definitely shines through and the jokes seem very episodic rather than a part of the whole. Certainly, "Police Academy" offers some funny moments and characters but a decent storyline does not exist.
The humor is sophomoric and a viewer will see how this could have been a lot better and a lot funnier.
