Review of Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice (2012) by Anthony A — 13 Apr 2013
This movie is shorter than most of your animated films. The film only runs about 60 minutes. Because of this, the plot can feel rushed. What I mean by this is, sometimes it feels like the movie is divided up into sections.
The first 20 minutes is about Keldeo's training and his battle with Kyurem. Then the next 20 minutes is the big chase, which is surprisingly suspenseful. Then the last 20 minutes is Keldeo's big battle with Kyurem.
Since the film is cut down to 60 minutes, they have to squeeze this scenes together with the plot, because of this, the film feels rushed. However, the animation is great and most of the characters are well-developed, most of the voice acting is good too.
However, the movie itself doesn't stand up to some of the really good Pokemon movies such as The Rise of Darkrai. Yeah, you should see it, but lower your expectations.
