Review of Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) by Noyb — 11 May 2019

Riddled with plotholes, a boring story, and terrible acting from almost everyone but Reynolds and even Pikachu was poorly written and Reynolds had to carry the part. Justice Smith was not terrible but not good by a long shot.

Meanwhile Kathryn Newton was definitively the worst of the bunch with acting on par with Lele Pons, if you can call that acting. The only good part of this movie is the pokemon, but they did not focus enough on them or put enough different pokemon into the movie.

I was really looking forward to an amazing world-building live action Pokemon movie, but instead this was what I got. I cannot stress enough how well-done the pokemon were, the FX people and Reynolds carried this movie the entire way.
