Review of Point Break (2015) by James K — 01 Aug 2010
This movie has got it all, from a good storyline to a quality cast (Keanu Reeves aside). It has a primary storyline and a secondary plot that turns upside down and really sucks you in. The movie also has a good angle with the surfing culture.
I first saw this film back in my teens and though it was okay but didn't really get into it, however this time round, I genuinely thought it was quality. Its a well executed movie. Kudos to the Directer.
However, my main issue with this movie aside from Keanu Reeves' so-so acting, is at the end of the movie when the Australian Police turn up with Uzi's and the dodgy Aussie accent... They manage to get Peter Phelps for one of the scenes why not for the rest of the Aussie connection.
Furthermore, since when does the AFP or any of the Australian Police, whether that be in WA, SA, NSW or were-ever on this island does the police use sub-machine guns as a means of fire-power?
If anyone out there can explain this to me I'd be most appreciative!?
