Review of Point Blank (2010) by Dominik G — 25 May 2012
The director of the excellent "Anything For Her" returns with another French thriller. Shot well, briskly edited and super fast at its 75min running time, it is quite entertaining. The problem is that as a kidnap thriller it is incredibly stale, going through the same motions and beats as countless films in the Taken-style sub-genre.
The French have a habit of repeating themselves with the same types of film, and this one proves the rule as it has nothing fresh to offer. Good for a one off watch.
