Review of Point Blank (1967) by Carly R — 08 Jan 2008
The Second World War sure shook up Lee Marvin and everybody in this film is gonna pay! His acting chops show through strongest when he's restraining himself from 'ultra violence' (as it was coined at the time).
I've heard him admitting in an interview that for the sound effects they let off a few 44 magnum rounds down the cell block corridors of Alcatraz. Soo loud that the shots sent paint falling from the roof and they could hear what Marvin describes as the residual cheers of all the criminal souls they woke up.
