I've always loved John Singleton's films and this is my second-favorite (after Boyz 'n' the Hood). Tupac Shakur, for all of his thuggery, was so adorable and made such a great pairing with Janet Jackson in this.
The poetry was wonderful and the soundtrack excellent. This flick is the goods!
