I know that it's very cliche' to say "if you don't take this movie seriously, then you'll enjoy it," but, for this film, well, that saying is actually true. I remember seeing this movie advertised years back on one of those upcoming theatrical release shows, and forgot all about it later on.

That is, until one day I was flipping the channels and came across it on the Independent Film Channel, and decided to give it a look, even though it only had like 10/15 minutes left of it. And, just with those last minutes of this movie, I was very much impressed.

The end was so dramatic and heartfelt. So, I decided to go out and buy it. I mean, I figured that if I enjoyed that last bit of this film as much as I did, I would enjoy it to its entirety. I went to the mall a few days later to Reel Collections, which is partnered with FYE, and found only one copy left, and it was on VHS, but, that didn't matter to me, for I just had to have this movie.

Well, undoubtedly this movie was worth something, because it was priced for $15, and was like 3 or 4 yrs. old at the time I bought it. I took it home and put it in the VCR and gave it a go. I mean Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle's performances were good, but, I thought Liv Tyler and Alan Cumming did a breathtaking job.

And, I really loved how this movie was historical, but, put in a way to where teens would enjoy it. The techno soundtrack gave this film a nice, fresh feel, and the majority of the cast also gave it a sense of fresh air.

I love this movie. Unfortunately, though, my copy is lost and can't be found, and everyone on the computer wants outrageous prices for their copies and this movie can't be bought in stores anymore really.

So, hopefully good luck to me in finding another copy for a fair price. Anyway, if you're looking for a fun adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously with a nice cast and a nice soundtrack, then Plunkett and Macleane is a good rent (and a good buy for any of you who can find a copy at a decent price).
