Review of Please Vote for Me (2007) by Joe G — 20 Aug 2010
A cutesy documentary with the neat concept of faux elementary school democracy in communist China. It's interesting to see not only how the candidates and their parents try to stage their campaign to give themselves the edge, but also how the other children react to said campaign.
PVFM has a similar feel to Spellbound, where the viewer may pick a specific kid to root for and get excited when the final votes are tallied. The largest problem with the film is that it's too short, more then likely because there wasn't a whole lot of worthwhile material.
Even still, this movie is definitely worth a watch.
