Nicole Holofcener is one of independent cinemas strongest writers. While "Please Give" doesn't rank as one of her best ("Lovely and Amazing" and "Friends With Money" are some of the best written films I've seen), it is still a strong effort on her part.
The cast, including regular Catherine Keener, are all great.
