Review of Please Give (2010) by Mark W — 29 Jun 2010
This is holofcener's (check spelling) best film to date. It offers plent of quippy dialogue, and real heart. When I first saw this film I remembered how a great cast can evolve a film into so much more.
Keener is perfect and there are moments where the audience will just want to tell the movie scree just how clever the film is. The central storyline is what happens to people's belongings/homes when they pass on and the answer is Keener and Platt buy their goods and sell them at a much inflated price.
Without giving anything away, the rest of the stories revolve around their family of misfits. Each character is fully pronounced and able to carry their scenes with grace.
