Review of Please Give (2010) by Dustin G — 12 Jul 2010

I was left really perplexed at the end of this movie. I get the feeling it's trying to say something, but what? That greed will win out in the end, so what's the point in living selflessly? That adultery is bad, but it shouldn't keep you from going on like everything's business as usual? Or is it just a story with no point and nothing to say? Annoying.

The acting's great and the writing's good as well. It's also got some genuinely funny moments and starts to show adultery for the destructive force that it is, before changing direction and deciding that's not it's stance after all.

For all it's annoyances and faults, it's entertaining enough and an easy watch due to the things it does right and the quirky charisma of (most)of its subject matter.

So check it out I guess, but don't expect to be any less perplexed than I was at the end.
