Nicole Holofcener is a master at writing great roles for women and films that don't blow you away with greatness, but flow with everyday rhythms and realistic characters, finding the perfect tone for the situation and revealing small but important truths about life, love, and whatnot.
She continues the streak here. It generates warm feelings despite some horrific characters and further solidifies the awesomeness of Catherine Keener. Good stuff.
