Review of Please Give (2010) by Codie E — 16 Nov 2010
I could understand somebody not enjoying a Nicole Holofcener film. The native New Yorker could be described as an auteur. From her debut Walking and Talking, through Sex and the City to her latest effort, Please Give, Holofcener clearly has her interests and style locked in - middle aged women going through a crisis of taste and morals in a relaxed but quietly moving way.
So if this doesn't interest you or you're bored of this by now steer clear. However, if all of this sounds good then seek this film out as soon as possible. Holofcener's writing and the performances of the talented cast are true and genuine.
This truly is American Indie the female way.
