A group of different folks centering on 2 families. One is a mother/father and teenage daughter. The other two sisters and a grouchy grandmother, They interact as neighbors, with us, the viewers getting to see behind the walls the talk between each of the individuals about the rest of the ensemble.
The grandmothers apartment is what brings the characters together, not what pits them against each other. And no, no one is trying to kill Grandma.
