This is a great controversial comedy that blurs the line between fantasy and reality. Tobey Maguire plays David, a nerdy high school kid who's in love with a 50's mayberry-ish style show called Pleasantville.

While he tries to watch the marathon and his sister (Reese Witherspoon) wants to watch something else they are transported into the Pleasantville world as characters by a magical remote. Once there they begin changing peoples minds and upsetting the established order in their attempt to teach people how to live and think on their own instead of conforming to the stifling order of things.
