Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Michael L — 13 Mar 2009
An excellent utopia story about two teenagers trapped in a 50s sitcom. Strong parallels and metaphors are made about the rise of decadence in society, and the loss of innocence over time. Like all utopias, we are reminded that any world is far from perfect.
Along the way, we are given laughs and heartwarming tales, witnessing each character grow in their own special way. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.
