Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Edmund C — 17 Jun 2009
A surprisingly interesting concept, but it's short of a five just because it seems to keep jumping around between messages. The beginning it horribly 90s corny, but then it becomes very Stepford-Wivesy before switching to a bipolar message that can't decide if it's racist or biblical followed up by a preachy finale.
As long as you don't take it seriously, it's pretty darn entertaining. It also helps if you say "Tobey Maguire gunna' get laaaaaaid" every now and then.
