Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Tina M — 25 Aug 2009
Definitely a unique concept for a movie. It's surreal, beautiful, and eloquently shows the coming of age of an entire era in American history. Visually it's fun too with most of the movie being black and white with only certain people and objects in color.
I also like how this film shows that there is no ideal, no perfection, no true way to be. Everyone must find and decide what their own path in life is, and not let a place or a person or a time decide it for them.
