Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Holland K — 21 Aug 2010
Just watched this movie again last night.. it's one of my favorite films that starts out as a simple fantasy of two modern teenagers that are transported to a 50's TV show, but becomes a very serious social commentary on change.
Segregation, censorship, sexual revolution, and Bad weather are topics brought into the forefront with this film.. This movie is truely a work of art and until Star Wars Ep 1 came out.. this movie had the record for most FX shots.
. rightfully so. I also challenge anyone to not get chills when Bud and Margaret go to Lover's Lane together for the first time.. so wonderful.
