Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Mikhail B — 24 Oct 2011
A charming dork by Tobey Maguire and a ladette by Reese Witherspoon slip through the TV screen to find themselves in a sleek black-and-white soap opera. Limited functionality of the TV world creates lots of funny moments before the celluloid world gets transformed by the two; and the heroes also get transformed.
Wonderful play with black-and-white and color.
