Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Ricardo T — 05 Dec 2011
Fluff. Fluff. Fluff. Sometimes dull fluff. For a film that preaches so much anti-conformity, Pleasantville is disappointingly conventional and safe, and ruins a promising premise. Also squanders the formidable talents of William H Macy, who is criminally underused, despite having played a somewhat similar character in one of the greatest films of the 90's (Fargo) just two years prior.
