Pleasantville is a near masterpiece, and I use the word near very reluctantly. Despite some minor gripes towards the beginning of the film, I found myself totally engrossed in this brainy, sentimental little fable.
It's a hip film with an old school atmosphere, asking questions about the "pleasant" nature of both conformity and rebellion. I was THOROUGHLY entertained the whole two hours.
