Review of Playing for Keeps (2012) by John R — 16 Dec 2012
A little upset about this movie. It's nor really a romantic comedy, as one might expect. It tries, but it doesn't get there. It feels like a half-baked Woody Allen comedy. I was upset with how many "unbalanced" characters there are around, and how they go around getting crazy and doing stuff for no reason. You know it's going to end bad.
Butler is charming, but is not enough. The only redeeming quality is the little kid. So adorable! And his scenes with his dad (Butler) are just so touching.
