Review of Play Misty for Me (1971) by Jeff B — 31 May 2007
Pretty good earlier directorial work from Clint Eastwood, but I wasn't really frightened by Evelyn. I guess I sort of have to bring up Misery. I know Kathy Bates was such an over the top fan/psycho, but I found her much more creepy than Evelyn, even though Evelyn is the more believable fan/pscyho.
And I thought that last half hour or so just dragged on, like when he's with his girlfriend in the forest or when he's at the concert, I just thought it wasn't needed. But man, what a punch.
