Based on a play written by Allen, this is sort of an early Annie Hall... You can tell that by the self-deprecating dialogue, neurotic undertones, and flashes of fantasy that the main character Allan has.
.. This is a great early Woody film (he didnt direct though), with a unique idea and wonderful cast...
