An in your face look at the brutality of war. Oliver Stone crafts a powerful, action packed epic that takes no prisoners. The cast of Platoon is packed full of stars. Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Forest Whitaker, Kevin Dillon and a small role for a young, up and coming Johnny Depp. Sheen and Dafoe are my favorite actors in this film and so convincingly portray their respective characters.
"Platoon" is a turbulent, unforgiving look at the war in Vietnam. Oliver Stone directs a quintessential war film that is as gritty as it is honest.
