Review of Platoon (1986) by Dylan C — 20 Feb 2011
This film does little to mess with your mind like many anti-war films tend to, nor does it glorify war like the films of the WWII era. All it does is give an account of the war in Vietnam (inspired by director Oliver Stone's own experiences), and lets the audience decide what to think.
The messages are there in the damages it caused to both soldiers and civilians, but they are not overdone. Solid acting all-around and some intense imagery make this an 80's classic.
