Review of Platoon (1986) by Dan B — 30 Nov 2012
A war film that really shows what went on during the Vietnam war. Great performances from a bunch of actors in this movie including Willem Dafoe. It was scary knowing this happened and how many died, even the way they died by suffering after bombs went off or being shot and left there to die.
One scene that has been remembered for years brought tears to my eyes even knowing it was going to happen after seeing it before and hearing about it. It's the whole movie that sucks you in really.
Charlie Sheen acted the same as any other movie like he did in this one. I never thought he was that great of an actor but still was pretty good in this. There were moments where I felt the movie could have moved a bit faster but in the end it was a great war flick and definitely one I'll always remember with a great cast and story.
