Review of Platoon (1986) by Jiana W — 19 May 2013
Brutal and unflinching. You find yourself actually hating most, if not all, of the characters at some point. The scene at the village is absolutely atrocious. To read about it is one thing. To see a dramatization of the kind of stuff that happened at My Lai (and in all wars hence and before as well) is heart-breaking and maddening.
It's hard to watch but it is a good movie that makes you think twice about joining the military.
