Review of Platoon (1986) by Vishal C — 10 Aug 2013
Platoon is a haunting account of a platoon of soldiers during the vietnam war. I absolutely loved the way Oliver Stone represents a soldiers inner conflict through two opposing sides in the platoon. The acting by Sheen (before he went crazy) is believable and solid, as were performances all around.
The scenery, the atmosphere, and the action scenes were especially haunting. The confusion and the apprehension of the Vietnam war is represented well through frantic battle scenes, where even the last bit of sanity is lost.
For film buffs, especially those fond of war movies, this is a must see film.
