Review of Planet Terror (2007) by Dakotah S — 06 Jan 2011
Planet Terror is the first movie in the Grindhouse experience, and it's a pretty great one.
Robert Rodriquez knows how to make really good movies like this, exploitation and true honest to god balls! He really keeps the pacing to a maximum, I was never really bored with this movie, the really outlandish action and blood kept it up for me. The acting and cameos are quite funny and surprisingly well. The tone and grain of the film is amazing as well, it kind of made me miss that a little while I do love digital, movies like that didn't need that.
The movie doesn't have much story or any good dialogue, the movie gets quite ridiculous at points with it, and sometimes goes too off the rails to have somewhat a plot line, not really the biggest problem with the movie.
If you take this seriously, then your an idiot, this is a real fun time, and the rating is high, but it really gave me everything I wanted.
