Planet Terror.

A 2007 action/horror film by Robert Rodriguez that was releashed under the name 'Grindhouse' as part of a double feature with Quentin Tarentino's 'Death Proof', their tribute to old-school cinema. 'Planet Terror' is not an ordinairy zombie film, every part of it is meant to be over the top. There's more gore, more violence, more sexy women and more humor. The story is pretty simple, nor are the dialogues, but the twists are likeable. The feel of rough editing, shakey images and even a missing segement gives you the feel that you are sitting in an old movie theater. I enjoyed every second of it. Starring Freddy Rodriguez, Michael Biehn, Bruce Willis, Naveen Andrews, Fergie and a cameo of Quentin Tarentino himself. All credits go to Rose McGowan in the unforgetable role of Cherry Darling, a gogo dancer with a machine gun as leg. Fun to know is 'Machete', the trailer in the beginning of the movie with Danny Trejo, grew out to be a movie franchise of its own. Get ready to be blown...

When a buisness transaction in Texas between militairy leader Muldoon (Willis) and chemical engineer (Andrews) goes wrong, a mass of dangerous gas is released that turns people into gruesome zombies. In a nearby hospital the infected townspeople are treated by Doctor Block and his wife Dakota, who are having marital problems. One of their patients is gogo dancer Cherry Darling (McGowan) who was brought in by her ex-boyfriend Wray (Rodriguez) after she got attacked by zombies. Because Cherry lost her leg (it got bitten off) and Wray is a known troublemaker the sheriff (Biehn) comes over to have word with him. In the mean time Block finds out his wife was planning on leaving him for a women. He wants to teach her a lesson, when suddenly the complete town gets overrun with flesheating zombies. Unlikely heroes rise and alliances are made in order to survive. But who will make it to the Bone Shack, the BBQ restaurant of the Sheriff's brother?
