Review of Planet Terror (2007) by Allen C — 11 Jul 2014
Planet Terror is an underrated film, and it's a shame because it's the one film by Robert Rodriguez that actually plays tribute to the low-budget horror films of the 70s. Machete and Machete Kills being the two other films that failed to do so.
Besides the gritty look of the movie, the film has the perfect balance of horror, gore, and humor. Nothing is done to the point where you're left thinking that the film is a one-trick-pony. But what will get you to like in this movie is that it's a lot of fun.
While it is gruesome at times, it does so in a very energetic and playful kind of way.
