Review of Planet 51 (2009) by Joanna C — 07 Sep 2010

Watching it right now as I'm typing this brief review. The first time I saw the trailer for this I thought it was cute and liked the idea of the reverse alien encounter situation. However, after finally getting through the first half of the movie, I became disappointed.

The animation is great and the characters are easy to like, but I did not find the story as intuitive and surprising as I thought it would be. It was predictable and had many corny jokes that adults would not find entertaining.

I'd say, great for the kids and people who are just wanting to see a good animation without much character complexity and good direction.
