(5 Stars) This is THE essential Thanksgiving movie and probably the most unforgettable buddy comedy ever made. If you haven't seen it, please do! It's one of the only movies I watch once a year and it never gets less funny or heartwarming.

Despite being known for high school comedies, John Hughes directs this buddy road trip movie that's as great as Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He was a great director and screenwriter and certainly knew how to connect music with his movies (the 80's score in Planes, Trains and Automobiles ranges from hilarious to heartfelt).

The scene with Steve Martin in the rental car company is a classic and John Candy's character is so lovable. The first time I saw it, I could not believe the twist ending. Planes, Trains and Automobiles is an exceptional movie and a rewarding experience, meshing comedy and drama perfectly.

You can watch with your whole family, provided they can stand one hilarious scene with a lot of F-bombs. I love Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!!
