Review of Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) by Dan B — 20 Feb 2013
A great road trip comedy about a man just trying to get home for Thanksgiving. There are plenty of road trip movies out there that suck but this one really kept me entertained the whole way through. It had a few good laughs through out, except for one scene that had me die laughing.
Steve Martin is just a miserable person during the whole movie it's funny. John Candy was his usual self which always made me think he was always the same character but never got old in this. It moved by quick and never really had a dull moment.
Of course it shares it's type of dumb jokes but what else could a road trip movie have? Comparing it to others of our day and age, this may be one of the best out there. If you're looking for a few good laughs and a movie to just past the time definitely add this to the list.
