Review of Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) by Keegan D — 02 Jan 2014
Planes Trains and Automobiles is a true classic to the buddy comedy road-trip genre. It's fun, hilarious and has this one quote from Steve Martin and John Candy that I can't get out of my head.
I haven't seen a lot of films starring John Candy, besides Blues Brothers and voicing in The Rescuers Down Under, but this film is probably his best performance I've seen him in. I could see how Peter Griffin from Family Guy resembles to John Candy cause of this movie.
Steve Martin does a good job in his performance, but John Candy takes the show away to a traditional level of comedy that we could all remember. Planes Trains and Automobiles is one of those 1980s comedy flicks that we could watch over again with our family.
I recommend this film towards the whole family. Even if there are some inner appropriate moments. I also recommend this as a holiday flick towards Thanksgiving time and Christmas time cause there's some elements in the film where you could get back into your holiday mode again.
