Review of Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) by Michael D — 28 Oct 2011
This is a classic of the buddy movie genre. Steve Martin and John Candy work well together as they try and get across the country and make it home in time for Thanksgiving. You feel for Del Griffith (Candy) because you know his heart's in the right place, and you feel for Neal Page (Martin) because all he wants to do is get home. The laughs stack up higher as the film goes on and mishaps tear them apart and bring them back together again, all while finding new avenues home.
