Much better than "Planes" of 2013. Still, I have to agree that the feel was slightly formulaic. The flying scenes were exciting and well animated / choreographed and my 10 year old daughter really loved the movie.
I was entertained enough to enjoy the experience too. Aviation fans will enjoy this movie even more. This isn't anything super creative like "Finding Nemo" or the original "Cars" with a strong theme to carry it, so the visuals and action mostly carried the film.
