This movie is so generic that it's almost not worth talking about. It feels like a direct-to-video production that somehow stumbled into a theater by accident. The animation is OK at best, and the voice acting is equally mediocre.

But I can tolerate those shortcomings, it's the script that really makes Planes Fire & Rescue a disaster. First of all there is zero imagination to what happens in the movie. The plot actually has some extreme similarity to Pixar's Cars movie.

That's a film I didn't like very much either, so making a lower-budget knock-off of it is just disastrous. Then there is the "humor" which they try injecting into the film. Much like Cars, I really quickly tired of the single joke recycled again and again in different context.

Literally the only joke they have in these films is that vehicles are acting like humans so they say things with vehicle-themed puns. It's not funny, not even the first time. Yet they throw these puns at you so rapidfire as if making it fast makes it funnier (It doesn't.

) Planes Fire & Rescue is watchable, but barely. I would highly recommend everyone avoid it. They put up a title card at the beginning announcing that this movie was dedicated to the heroes who work in fire & rescue, and all I could think about at the end was the lameness of this tribute.

I mean would I really be honoring anyone if I emptied my trash can and said "this bag of trash is in your honor.".
