Review of Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014) by Robyn E — 28 Jul 2014

I went into Planes: Fire and Rescue with quite low expectations. The trailers looked pretty good, but I thought the first one was dreadful and didn't expect better from this one. The only reason I was seeing it is because I have a six year old son who was dying get to the theater.

I must say, I was quite pleasantly surprised. Planes 2 is much more charming and coherent than Planes. The jokes are really funny and the music is not only good, but suits the movie, whereas I thought the music from Planes was too lofty and dramatic, as if they were trying to elevate a clunker with a decent song.

This wasn't a great movie, but since I didn't think Frozen was anything special, I'd say it's almost as good as Frozen. I'll actually look forward to watching this on repeat when it hits iTunes.

I kinda can't wait to see the John Deere deer again. :D.
