Review of Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014) by Kimberly H — 28 Jul 2014
This is a great movie. It's a deeper and more serious story than the original Planes, returning to the theme of both main and secondary characters dealing with both physical and psychological disability, not only to advance themselves, but to do something heroic in service to others.
I am disabled myself, have.
Excelled despite fear, and have experienced attaining a dream and then having it taken away by a secondary disability, and having to find another. So not only is the film a shout out to firefighters, but it's a ray of hope to disabled people everywhere.
The details are well researched and the situations are spot on. If you want to know what the life of forestry firefighters is really like, this is it. Cal fire, this one's for you.
