I can’t believe I’m saying this but this movie makes Cars 2 look enjoyable. Cars 2 didn’t get a low score because it was a bad film but because it was from a studio that was capable of more than an average kids film.
This is just a straight up bad movie that I would not recommend watching to anyone outside of toddlers. Outside of some nice flying segments, nice animation on the environments, and decent theme this film has nothing to offer.
The characters are boring and cliché and the story is unoriginal borrowing heavily from previous entries in the franchise and lacking the heart those films had (moreso than original Cars). This has to be one of the worst animated films I have ever seen because of how half assed it is.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this movie. If you have kids show them another animated film that came out this year like Monsters University or Despicable Me 2 they may not be great they are far more entertaining for the family than this lazy production that was all money no heart (don’t believe me they already have a sequel planned, which they promote at the end credits).
