Review of Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957) by Zacho D — 13 Jan 2009
It's easy to see that Ed Wood put a lot of love into this film and it reminds me of Metropolis whereby Lang had a vision that was beyond his grasp - though he somehow still managed it, and that was 30 years prior to this.
The acting here is woeful, Bela Lugosi is completely wasted, there's no point mentioning the effects as those Hubcap Flying Saucers are now part of cinematic history, and the camera work is a disaster.
I did like the aliens and their plan though. But most of all I loved seeing a director dedicated to bringing his dream to life no matter what. And it made me want to watch Burton's biopic again.
